This is a great song!

20 things I learned in my 20s!

As I am approaching my birthday in June and turning 31 (delving deeper into my 30s :/), I have been reflecting on my 20s and all I learned.  Below is my list, in no particular order of things that I was taught in my 20s.

1.  Life does not go as planned.  Learn to go with the flow.

2.  You are stronger than you think.  You can deal with the unimaginable.

3.  It is easier being by yourself than being with the wrong person.

4.  God will provide the necessities.  Don’t spend your life worrying.

5.  Money is just paper.  Sometimes you have it, sometimes you don’t.

6.  True friendships will always be there no matter where life takes you or how long you are apart.

7.  Family is everything.  They are the people who know and understand you best.

8.  Believing in something keeps you strong and hopeful.

9.  You are not an adult yet.  You just pretend to be.

10. Beer before liquor never been sicker.

11. Goals are good.  Don’t get discouraged if it takes longer than you expected to reach them.

12. How you treat people is everything.  Be patient and kind…we are all human.

13. You have to pay taxes and it sucks.

14. Who you are at the core of your being is always there, even if you only get glimpses of it sometimes.  Cling to it and stay true to yourself.

15. Boys will always be boys and girls will always be girls.

16. Wine really is good.

17. Happiness is a state of mind.  Not a place, not a person, not a situation.  Stay positive.

18. Life is very short.  I’m sure when I am 40 this will be even more true.

19. Alone time is a necessity.

20. Being outside is good for your soul.

This song is so bittersweet.  It makes my heart ache.

In loving memory of my brother.  I love you.
When I see the red-tail hawkgliding effortlessly in its blue realityspiralling over me as though I amsingled-out special to see suchbeauty, then blink-of-the-eye goneI know your spirit has senta message of love, a jewelfor my memory.  -Patty Mooney
